Laundry cost seemed expensive and couldn't extend dry time in increments - had to pay for a full dry cycle to get a little more drying time. Probably very difficult to get a site then. State Fair appears to be the last 2 weeks of July. Had to wait until 10 for the visitor center to open to get the NPS cancellation stamp for the Pony Express NHT which ended there. So we walked around before things were open. But very little open in Old Sacramento before 10 AM. We were able to get down to Old Sacramento and vacate before 11 AM. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park's roads. There was a snake warning posted for in the pet area. There were tools and can for waste in the fenced pet area. There was one designated fenced pet areas with a grass surface located in a corner of the park. Used our NET10 phone with good reception. The park provided WiFi was adequate but occupancy was low. The park brochure listed 8 OTA channels - No cable. Not much to obstruct satellite reception in the gravel area unless along the South row where there was a line of trees. Stay limit of 30 days in a 60 day period. No outside tables or fire pits were provided. The sewer connection was above ground level in a concrete island with the other utility connections so establishing a downhill flow could be difficult depending upon discharge point. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. Distance establishes privacy between the sites but there wasn't much distance between sites. The gravel portion is flat so really no leveling issues. Saw some MH's with front wheels off the ground to get level. The paved portion has a pretty good slope. The sites are a mixture of back-ins and pull thrus. There are some tight turns to maneuver through the park. Registration parking is a single file line at the office. There is a sharp incline to get into the park which shows some scraping marks in the pavement. Access to the RV park is on the SE side of the Expo grounds off of Ethan Way. Using the street address in GPS will only get you to the main entrance of the Expo grounds. Access from any of the other major highways requires extensive routing.

The park is a short drive along busy multi lane city streets from BUS I-80 (Exposition Blvd exit from the South or Arden Way exit from the North). We stayed 1 night while traveling through the area.
